Penn had better be on suicide watch after he sees that picture. He looks like an old woman wearing a fake nose/mustache. COMICAL!

I've never seen Oprah look better. She finally looks comfortable in her own skin.

I knew it was only a matter of time before Oprah arrived. She must be ticked that Phil (who reportedly wants to buy out the remainder of his contract with Oprah's Harpo Studios) beat her to the punch, but she'll probably make up for that by upstaging him by flashing her monetary largesse for a selected few. Maybe new pontoon boats for everyone in the audience, or something.

What took her so long? When she couldn't get into Hermes after hours to buy a watch for Tina Turner, she had her people squawking about it a lot quicker than this.

First Hurricane Katrina, now Hurricanes Oprah and Phil. Haven't the poor evacuees suffered enough?

"I would have been more impressed with Sean Penn's visit if it didn't stink of a photo-op to be used to bludgeon Bush."

C'mon. Give Penn a break. At least he got America laughing again. (Honest, Sean we're laughing *with* you, not *at* you. Really. No -- sniggle -- foolin' I . . . heh, heh, heh . . . mean it. bwahahahaHaHaHAHA!!!!)

Lisa Ling was on Oprah's show today. One of the FIRST things out of her mouth was (paraphrasing here, but only a little) "I wonder, if this had happened to a community of afflurent white people, would it have taken *so* long for help to arrive for them?" Well, thats just what everyone needs, isn't it?

I caught a bit of the show today. There was a very poor upset black woman crying in the Astrodome, and trying to tell her problems to Oprah. Oprah dismissed her by repeatedly saying "you're gonna be fine." And this is from the queen of empathy? It came off as very condescending. What that poor woman wanted was somebody to listen to her, and empathize, not dismiss her problems with a wave of her hand.

it's a good diversion from the real racial hatred exhibited by some that was all too obvious.
