I realize that, but I guess in Shep's case, after watching him on and off for years (I'm only an avid viewer when there's something worth watching) - I don't attach a lot of malice to it.

I think the guy went 1/2 nuts and he just couldn't contain himself.

Add my dittos too. I saw him as heroic.

I saw him as someone who made it very clear that there was a horror story unfolding around him and that something had to be done.

I think they pulled him so he could rest and relax. He lived through something that few of use would want to see or experience.

That's all fine and good, but look at what the president is going through because of his "good intentions". Not only that, but he has not done one single thing to fix the mess he created. As a "journalist" you'd think he would have figured out the chain of command by now and done everything in his power to fix it. I watched tonight to see if he would. The shallow little shell said not a single word to help the man he hurt.

OK, this is a valid question, not a smart-aleck one. Where do you get the idea that Shep alone is the cause of Bush's woes? Much less the idea that the DNC would have never thought of blaming Bush had it not been for Shep? There were a lot of reporters on this from all over the world and they reported on the same tragic events as did Shep.

When FOX started repeating itself I would turn to MSNBC or CNN to get new stories and new pictures and they were so blatantly finger pointing that I couldn't watch. Granted I could have missed what you saw in Shep's reporting but I never did see what you called "pointing a loaded gun at Bush."

I did not realize until last night that Sheppard Smith is from Mississippi, which explains a lot of his passion in covering this particular story. Nonetheless, I am still curious about what you saw that some of the rest of us missed. Again, that's not a sarcastic question, but a genuine one. Obviously you feel very strongly about this.

At least I know he isn't a Geraldo, who is cool inside and dramatic as needs be on the out.

Shepard Smith was dramatic on the inside, and that was his problem. When a reporter is emotionally affected by a story it is too often simply not possible for that reporter to objectively pass information. The end result - he wound up in the same situation as Geraldo. He needed a change of assignment.

He freaked out in a time of crisis like liberals usually do - all emotion, no common sense or perspective. No judgment and no attempt (that I saw) to actually use the tools he had to help. He went from dancing on Bourbon street Monday night to complete meltdown Tuesday night.

You're right, I feel very strongly about this. Shep was one of the first to start this and then he hammered on it. Since the leftist press considers FOX "conservative" they lapped it up and then they all piled on. Shep was the first one who was yelling "where is the government". Not where is the Mayor, not where is the Governor but "the government". Shep isn't stupid, he knows when you say "government" the wide viewing audience is going to blame the FEDERAL government.

The first day he was there, there were thousands. The following days there were fewer and fewer. Where did the others go? Why didn't Shep ask that question? Why didn't he walk down to the end of that roadway and find out why the people were blocked off?

I think Shep had visions of some kind of press award dancing in his head, but instead, all he did was add heap coals on the head of President Bush.

There was no excuse for Shep, or any other "journalist" not to know what had already been done by the federal government. This is the first time a president has been pro-active to this degree on any natural disaster. The amount of goods and men that were being shipped to the area was unprecidented. Why didn't Shep even mention that?

I think he's so self centered that all he cared about was himself and wanted so bad to be a "hero" that it never even dawned on him that he was laying a heavy burden on a man who already has more burdens than any president I can think of.
