I'm sorry that June Bug did not make the cut, I really hope he wins a race or two the rest of the season.
It would be a shock - for Nascar - if Jeff Gordon does not make it. Rule change next year?
I'm still behind my boy - #88 - 110%. Lot's of posts here after the Bristol race about loss of respect for DJ, etc.
DJ amazed me. I'm glad he retaliated. Too many young drivers doing too many stupid things, then saying, "Oh, I didn't mean that." - like all is forgiven.
I really wish Dale Earnhardt SR was still around - there would be a whole lot of punks whinning..........
and learning.
LVM
Hi LVM......if he's gonna win one besides Dega this will be it. He has nothing to lose now. I still don't understand why Tony Jr is staying with Michael. He and Jr should be practicing for next year. Oh well, who knows what they're up to.
I loved the night DJ took Shane Hmiel to school after Hmiel spun him out in the Busch race.

I was talking to a guy who's dad has been around racing most of his life. He says that in the old days of NASCAR you would bump someone when they were going into a turn. That way they don't lose it because they have their foot on the brake. These youngsters like to bump coming out of a turn when you have your foot on the gas, and thus less control. End result is you get spun out. Newman put DJ from 7th back to 31st with his "unintentional" bump. DJ hit the wall messing up the rear end of his car and spoiler. The 2 lap penalty he got for retaliation only meant DJ would never get any better than 31st (and no worse). It didn't matter what happened after that; DJ was out of the Race for the Chase. Had DJ finished 7th (probably wouldn't have, but we'll never know, will we) he would be within 15-20 points of 10th. Only thing for him to do was to ruin Ryans day at Bristol - glad he did it.
