I don't follow Christian rock (see the Hank Hill quote above) and don't care much for "orchestral" or "classical" rock either.
That said, there are a number of mediocre bands that have hipped to the notion that they can get on a touring circuit by calling themselves a Christian band. Some that have done this and found success now try to distance themselves from the label.
As I understand it, parents will give their kids (don't know how young or old) permission to attend such functions (often under the guidance of a youth group outing).
This is bringing the outside c*ckrock shows into the isolated environment. So much for "change the channel if you don't like it".
This is an act of religious intolerance by a small minded musician.
