sionnsar is back from his week of nearly no Internet access at all. (Busy most of the time, but when I had time available in the evenings, the only way to get there was to attach a USB cable to the cellphone, pin the cellphone to the drapes to get just 1 bar of signal, and even then uplink rates felt like 1200 baud.

Suggestion: Maybe you could smoke a cigar and play the bagpipe at the same time so you could send FReeping smoke signals?

An alternate pinger, or even better, new ping list owner, is sought. I only took this one up because CyberCowboy777 let it go when he left (I still wish he'd come back) and I thought it important we Washingtonians be kept abreast of local news posted on FR -- as there is often enough stuff we (well, I) don't read on the MSM.

All, you know I picked up the list when ahadams2 passed away last year. newheart has been a a good and helpful alternate but has not been heard from lately. Like me, he has a busy travel schedule. This is the list that is most likely to be affected (as if it hasn't been already)... don't expect service to return to normal anytime soon, if it all comes from me.
