After watching the Colts D tackle in the Monday night game against the Pats, I became discouraged. I had scored a boat load of fantasy D points with them earlier in the season but I am glad I benched the Colt D for the Broncos today.

Colts D scored negative 2 points today.

Broncos D scored 29 against the hapless Jets.

yeah....

But the Colts D played much better in the 2nd half than the first.

I have the Pittsburgh D so it's been a good couple weeks for me anyway :)

That same Broncos D would get smoked by the Colts Offense this year. I am really amazed they didn't score 70 tonight.

This game also shows that the Bengals aren't quite there yet.

I would have to rank the AFC like this:

Colts
Broncos
Squeelers
Pats
San Diego
Jacksonville
Cincy
KC

And then after that it's a big jumble of teams that aren't really distinguished from the others.

As for the Colts D, I think this was the best offense they face this year that they played tonight.

Agree ... however the Bengals, in order to gain the respect they deserve, need a win over a team that is play-off bound. Their three toughest opponents this season, Pittsburgh, Jacksonville and Indianapolis ... were losses ... they play the Steelers again (a conference rival) ... beyond a victory in Pittsburgh, their chances, other than a wild card shot, are diminishing.

that's what I think too.

Probably their best victory could be against Chicago.....they are playoff bound as well...

Agreed, but I would flip the Squeelers to 4 or 5 right now without Big Ben.

Losing to the Ravens offense is just embarrassing.

If I had my choice of fantasy D's to choose every week. It would be whoever is playing the Ravens or the Jets.

They will have Big Ben next week.

I don't see the Squeelers having more or equal losses than the Pats, which makes them the #3 seed. what I gave was more of a playoff seeding than a power ranking.

the Steelers didn't really lose to the Ravens offense. They lost to their own offense :)

As an aside ... the sideline reporterette ... dressed all in white, as in white hat that covered her ears, white turtle neck sweater and white coat with a fur lined collar and early in the game white gloves (she took them off in the second half) all in temperatures here in Cincinnati, at game time, that were in the low 50's. Rule of thumb for NFL game reporterettes ... if we can't see your breath then dress appropriately.

I have been cold all day and I am only 60 miles or so north of Cincy right now, but I also have a cold :)

Since the Bears are a team which is still in progress a loss here would not have meant that much as long as they kept improving. The statement that was made today is that the Bears can play with anybody. Indianapolis is the only team which I would not feel entirely confident about. But the only way to go here is up. Orten is going to be rookie of the year and a Bears qb for a long time getting better and better.

What is most encouraging is that this was the tenth game for this qb. He is improving every game and the line is protecting like crazy even though it has been together for ONE game.

It's happened...I'm fully 'involved' now with the Bears...my computer desk top is the bears logo now...that hasn't happened in ten years!!

I have faithfully trudged down to Soldier Field for the last 30 yrs. and taken my fair share of abuse. Yesterday was worth the walk.

How 'bout them Cowboys!

I'm glad we won and all but...what kind of suck-fest was that? The Cowboys stank but were out-stunk by the Kitties. And I ran out of beer during the game.

Colts/Bengals wasn't football, it was a game of pitch and catch.

Defensive Secondaries on both sides were on vacation.

The Giants nailed the final nail into the Eagles coffin. Probably knock them out for decades to come.

Probably. The last four years - where the Eagles made it to the NFC Championship game four times in a row - were probably the best opportunity for them to win a Super Bowl, while the rest of the NFC East was in the midst of rebuilding. They had their chance, but they couldn't follow through.

Now the Giants/Cowboys/Redskins have accomplished coaches at the helm, have young teams with veteran players to help lead them, good quarterbacks (Eli and Bledsoe especially), and most importantly, better records than the Eagles.

Sorry Eagles. Your time is up.
