I've got the slipknot down pat. I am beginning to get how to cast on. I'm a bit confused about what is a row *LOL* This weekend's project is to unconfuse myself :D
Thanks for starting this! I have finished several more scarves since I last checked in. There is a yarn that looks like a shiny tree garland, but is very soft and surprisingly easy to work with. It makes a sensational holiday accessory (even when knitted by me!).
When you work with two needles, a row is usually when you work off all the stitches off one needle.
Then you put the needle with all the stitches back in your left hand, if you are right handed, then start knitting the next row with the needle in your right hand.
You got me hooked on scarves. I have knitted three since you started talking about them.
"What are you doing?"
Well, nothing like waiting until the very last moment to start a scarf I need to have done by Saturday night to match my fancy "goin' to a par-tay" coat, LOL!
Other than that, I have most stuff done. Still need to throw together a few of those "in a jar" gifts, and crochet a few more cotton dishcloths.
I've gotta shop for my 18 year old, but he's getting gasoline gift cards and clothing, so that can be accomplished on-line. I might make him a scarf, but it's still "un-kewl" to wear a hat, mittens or scarf, don't 'cha know? ;)
Madly rushing to finish everything, of course! We are going to Omaha this coming week, and now I'm glad I knit all those scarves for the kids & mr legs.
I went into the yarn store to buy a size 17 circular needle, and don't ya know I found six balls of nice superwashed wool, knitting worsted weight on sale for 2.00 a ball. So I bought them all. I am supposed to be working on:
A pair of baby socks.
finishing 1 scarf.
working on a baby afghan
a pair of mitts for hubby
a pair of mitts for me.
So much yarn, so many ideas. So many pairs and sets of needles....
I've got a day full of meetings tomorrow, so I'm going to make knitted mittens and hats, and woven scarves for my 4 nieces and nephew.
If I wear all my arm appliances, I can do the mittens (might do them 2-in-1 with afterthought thumbs) and then relax while I weave the scarves.
[BTW, there is a new double-knit elist on yahoo. Lots of interesting info...]
I don't need to make much stuff for warmth down here in NC, but they're all up in Toledo, freezing. :-/
Just moved a large part of my fiber stash and found lots of odds and ends of handspun. They'll think I'm a saint! lol

Mad rush is right, lol. I finished the Welcome cross stitch I was working on, now I'm working on a piece called, The Second "Angel of Freedom" Thank gosh I opted to do it on 16 count rather then linen...Much more complicated pattern then I originally thought, lol. Ah well the end result will make it worth it.
I'm still not finished with my sister in-law's scarf, but did manage to knock one out for my cousin's little girl. I was so sick of looking at that green yarn I needed a break! The little girl one is so cute. Just knitted the whole thing, no fancy stitches, but it's out of this great novelty yarn. It's sort of like an eyelash, but there is also a fluffy, thicker, shorter strand. It's fluffy and pink, so I think she'll really like it.
Hopefully, I finish the one for SIL tonight/this weekend (please, dear God, let me finish soon!) and I can start on the one for my mom.
My estimated time of finishing my Christmas '05 projects is sometime around Valentine's Day. ;-)
Oh and my husband wanted a blanket- a store bought blanket, thank God! I don't know what I would have done if he had asked me to make one.
Yesterday we lost another hero. Henry "Hank" Nava, a highly respected Ft. Worth Texas Police Officer, died from a bullet wound to his head he received two days ago from an identity theft suspect wanted for parole violation. Officer Nava, 39 years old, was an exemplary officer, a loving husband and devoted father to Kayley, 9, and Justin, 4.
As we go about our daily activities I ask that you please take a moment and join me in remembering Officer Nava and his family in your prayers.
Prayers said for Officer Nava.
The shame is, these 3 pieces are not worth listing. They will sell for a few bucks. I'm just sick.
The Lord shine his light on Officer Nava, and hold his family close in his arms and under his wings. Amen.
They are beautiful. So much work.
I finished my two stockings, one for my new son in law and one for my new daughter in law. I'm sick of crocheting baby blankets.... it feels too late in the year to start something for Christmas but I long for an advent calendar to make for next year. Any suggestions?
