You talked me into it. I have more than enough yarn around here. I know Grandma is buying him socks. Woo-Hoo! He'll be living it up this Christmas. Socks AND a scarf. What 18 year old boy wouldn't be thrilled? LOL!

I did get started on my scarf that I need for tomorrow evening. I'm using black Fun Fur (Lion Brand) combined with a black and tan and gold-shot Jewel Box yarn from Carron. Making it about 4" wide and nice and long to wrap around time and again. Double crochet, Size P hook; I can't stop "petting" it, LOL!

Could you add me to your list, please? Tanks.

My sewing room is currently a staging area for Christmas decorations and wrapping of presents.

Got my aprons made. More length on the grandbaby's afghan. Am hosting big event for newest grandbaby's christening. Organizing, also, for the big Christmas Eve mass and candlelight service.

Got most of Christmas shopping done.

But the mood of crafts is upon me, in a big way.. I have my pattern books spread all over the place.. and just reading yours about finding that great wool at only $2.00/skein.. has me wondering how soon I can squeeze in a trip to the Yarn store.... And no kidding, I was seized yesterday with the desire to make new Christmas stockings for everyone. HA! And a new dining room table runner. Double HA!

I saw this on the Tony Snow thread and thought some may be interested in sending in some hats and gloves if they have the time:

On Malkin's site:

Update: Reader Lynn D. writes...

I called Walter Reed to find out the best way to send a bunch of cards to soldiers, and was directed to the Red Cross office at Walter Reed. The gentleman I spoke to said to bundle multiple cards in one big manilla envelope and send them to the Red Cross office and they will distribute them. He was a nice man who is a wounded soldier himself. The address I was given is:

Red Cross
Walter Reed Army Medical Center
6900 Georgia Avenue NW
Heaton Pavillion
3EO5
Washington, DC 20307

The man said they can also use stamps, gloves and stocking caps at the Red Cross office there.
