We did it an easier way.
Place a whole roll of caps on the concrete (standing like a wheel).
Give it a good hard smack with a hammer!

Give it a good hard smack with a hammer! We tried that too. Ever get a hammer claw recoiled into your shoulder? Or flying concrete shrapnel? Ouch!
