But the Yankees MAKE money. That's why everyone else (particularly Boston fans) gets pissed.

I remember in '79 when Pete Rose left Cincinnati to play for the Phillies. As a long suffering Philadelphia fan, I grew up despising Rose. Suddenly I thought he was the greatest thing since sliced bread. A lot of Yankees fans probably feel the same way about Damon.

And you Boston fans calling him a washed up bum.... You know that deep in your heart, you still wish you had him. He's better than any other center fielder you'll end up with this season.

The Yankees generate revenue, not profit. An ESPN article a month or two back estimated the Yankees losses were close to $85 million. The value of the team allows them to carry debt. The reason for this loss is that with revenue sharing and luxury taxes they wind up having to fork over a lot of cash.

Being the liberal that he is Peter Gammons thinks it's great that revenue sharing exists.
