I see Hollywood is cramming this down my throat and claiming a huge success, but who in the hell is watching this thing?

Well, you must have known, when you asked that question here, what the answers would be.

Yes, but it's fun hearing everyone here make fun of it.

I don't plan to see the movie, but I did read the short story in a collection of Western stories, and from what I recall, the movie is apparently a massive rework and expansion of the story to bring out all of the "sympathetic" angles. The way I remember it, the property owner caught the guys at it, ran them off, and that was it. Been a while, so maybe I'm missing something.

Of course, but "Gay Cowboys" makes for good humor for sure.

Nope never will.
Can't stand the thought of guys riding backward in the saddle and not having anywhere to hang their rope.

I imagine few people outside large metro areas(with large homosexual+/or liberal populations)will watch it,but i predict it'll get multiple Oscars.

"I hate the term homophobic"

yes, I'm with you.. Fear of homos is not something i've yet experienced. You know, of course, it's just a codeword used as a convenient label for indoctrination purposes. I despise this subterfuge and I don't stand for it....

No, they're going to have to get their box office score from somebody else.

I was in Milwaukee for a family visit, and I read an article in the New Year's Day edition of their local fishwrap, and I laughed so hard at one point that my sister-in-law came into the room to find out what was going on.

You see, the article was on the predictions that futurists were offering for the next few years, and one of them predicted that the gay marriage debate in the U.S. would be resolved by "Brokeback Mountain." I nearly died laughing. Whose mind did this twit think would be changed...nobody's going to see it except people who have absolutely no objection to gay sex! How many people of that description are major league gay marriage opponents?

To quote Charles Krauthammer, "Only 14 people will see it, but they will be the right 14 people and it will win every award out there."

Hollywood can stick their agenda where the sun don't shine.

And they'll enjoy it, so it's a win for both of you.

Not watching humpback mountain, homoerotic cowboy movies sounds more like science fiction to me.

That a useless question to ask here. You'll just get the answers you want to hear.

Why whine about it?

The first weekend it ran, they ran it only in cities with a vgay population in the tens of thousands, so they'd have full theaters and get some buzz.

They did $500,000 the opening weekend.

The Narnia movie did $67 million. The next weekend, King Kong did $90 million

Nice try, Hollywood.
