Who Is the GREATEST Computer Techo-Geek In The FR?
Self | January 18, 2006 | PJ-Comix

Posted on 01/18/2006 4:43:01 AM PST by PJ-Comix

Since I am currently wading my way SLOWLY (and painfully) thru all kinds of technical info involving sound recording, editing, mixing, etc. on the computer to prepare for my upcoming DUmmie FUnnies Podcast, I must say that I am more impressed than ever by the high level of technical proficiency displayed by many of my fellow Freepers in regards to computers. Therefore I would like to see who is considered the GREATEST computer techno-geek in the Free Republic.

Don't be falsely modest. If you think you are the GREATEST Computer Techno-Geek on the FR, then go ahead and nominate yourself and tell us why. If you think somebody else qualifies as the GREATEST Computer Techno-Geek on the FR then place his/her name in nomination along with the reasons for doing so.

I will start this off by throwing out a few names. First would be dennisw since it seems that quite a few folks here turn to him for technical computer advice and he responds with detailed answers (which are mostly beyond my level of understanding). I would also nominate DUFU Pingee, Allosaurs_r_us, since he has provided me with great info concerning computer problems. Finally, I throw out the name of John Robinson, who keeps the FR up and running...no easy chore given the heavy bandwidth usage.

Okay, your turn now to present the nominees for the GREATEST Computer Techno-Geek on the FR.

Too broad, IMO. You have networking, security, hardware, software, programmers, netadmins...
