NEW YORK - Entertainer Harry Belafonte, one of the Bush administration's harshest critics, compared the Homeland Security Department to the Nazi Gestapo on Saturday and attacked the president as a liar.
"We've come to this dark time in which the new Gestapo of Homeland Security lurks here, where citizens are having their rights suspended," Belafonte said in a speech to the annual meeting of the Arts Presenters Members Conference

What a bedbug this guy is. It makes me wonder what he's hiding.
How about the fact that Belafonte has been expressing the views of many dissident Americans for decades. I guess it's easy to simply denigrate him and call him names, rather than engage in discussion of the issues.
Basically Belafonte is arguing that the American government is not a democratic one but rather a fascist type of government. And that the Bush Administration is a corrupt and criminal regime. Go to democracynow.org to hear an interesting interview with Belafonte if you can get past the namecalling.
