The children rented the movie over Christmas break, wife and I loved it too and are now fans. One of my favorite things is (a) that the director considers the crew of the Firefly akin to the defeated Confederates after the Civil War and (b), that one of the crew members is carrying a weapon very similar to the Winchester model 12, which went on the market in 1912. A good shotgun, however. Anyhow, loved the movie and guess we'll be buying a copy of it.

To me Firefly is the most original sci-fi show that I have seen in along time..

Glad to hear it. I'm personally very fond of the wit in the dialogue and the imaginative milieu.*
