You are right, wardaddy.
We didn't have a weight problem back then.

This area is known to stress fitness and nutrition.
But, folks are very big out here, especially the young'uns.
That's to be expected when they eat Toaster Struedel for breakfast,
McDonald's/Taco Bell for lunch (in school, no less), and KFC for supper.

I remember when "fast food" came out of a machine. ;o)

I bet your darling girls are built like you.
Between you and the lovely mrs. wardaddy, your boys have fantastic genes.

Not only that, we got a lot more excercise back then too. I cant remember how many bicycle tires I wore out and had to change. If I wanted money I cut grass, raked leaves, and had a paper route. Most kids I knew did the same. Sadly, those days are long gone.

I have actually counted the percentages of truly fat folks in a Wal Mart or Cracker Barrel or Sams or maybe even while I'm parked out front of a TJ Maxx waiting on my wife.

It's astounding and there is a definite socioeconomic component that seems to cut across all races.

Folks used to say it was because poor folks ate crap because it was cheaper. I think it's also about self discipline....which applies to work ethic same as appearance though no doubt there are stronger social pressures on wealthier folks to not get fat....especially the wives.
