In addition, the Seattle did use the leverage from the pushoff to change direction. Both were standing flatfooted until the receiver pushed off to break on the ball.

It's funny that the Seahawks and others have been using the 12th man for years (they even retired the #12 jersey some years ago) and the Aggies are just now complaining about it when the Seahawks go the the SB.

Hinz Ward well deserves his MVP award.

That's a play that is usually not called in the playoffs. Steve Young thought it was a joke, as did most of the commentators.

If Farve comes back for another year I'd like to see him win fairly, not as a gift for previous good years.

This game was disgrace.

Farve deserves better, and I wish him luck.

Don't forget the 15 yarder against Hasselbeck for diving in front of the guy with the ball. LOTS of bad calls. This whole game was BS. May as well watch wrestling.

"I think Lynn Swann also gained about 3 points in the gubernatorial race in PA...
You got that right. The Steelers win was politcal gold for Lynn Swann."

I suspect Fast Eddie Rendell will have his ugly mug all over the TV, so it may help him, too (unfortunately)

That's the bottom line. And I'm a big Steelers fan from the 70s. When the refs inject themselves into the game, it taints the entire affair.

I never insinuated...

Okay, there are lots of bad calls in a game, and holding could be called on any play. Overcome them, don't throw interceptions, don't drop the ball, don't give up 75 yard touchdown runs, make your field goals, manage the clock better.

The Seahawks got beat. To say the refs cost them the game when they did enough to lose on their own is weak.

While many of the calls went the Steelers' way, Cowher totally out shined Holmgren. Like Madden, i couldn't understand the Seahawk's play calling or clock management at the end of either half.

Also, the Seahawks' game plan totally lacked creativity.

And there is the rubb. Obvious foul though perhaps not serious. Call it or let them play?

Agreed. An earlier post argued the point. The infraction was patently obvious on replay. Not saying every call is perfect, as subjective analysis by the officials is the fact of the matter.

For those that think the game was rigged; if it was truly rigged the Seahawks would have scored to cover and save Vegas millions. Since they did not, we can reasonably assume that this was just another game.

"If the PITT fans can come up with any plays where they think they were hosed, I'd like to know."

I guess you didn't watch any of Pittsburgh's playoff games then. Even the NFL made an offical statement saying it was a bad call concerning Troy's interception. But then again, the Steelers played so good that they could overcome any bad calls. Did Seattle do that tonight?

My apologies for bringing the dreaded Hag into this. Just that you can only read so many malcontented "we was robbed" posts.

Thanks for understanding.

Been a rough year for us. I want to make it clear I don't think that the Steelers cheated, because they didn't. It was just a rough game because the majority of calls went against us.

We were not able to surmount that hurdle as well. It was a game.

Congrats to the Steelers.

"Hey, at least we had a long-time organization win the Super Bowl, not one bought by "Microsoft Money" (pun definitely intended here!)."

Those of us in the NW are very thankful that Paul Allen bought the team. Behring had it, ran it down, then wanted to move it to LA and the fans were very upset about it. Paul stepped in and bought it to keep it in Seattle and the fans VERY much appreciate that.
