Did you see the thread where I gave the Super Bowl I* trophy for whining and crying and crying and whining to bikepacker76? The asterisk, of course, signifies that he got the trophy for being the biggest whiner and crier on the Steeler threads.

There are many worthy runners-up as well. sink spur, maineman (girly-man), reagan man and a host of others.

But there can only be one real winner. The rest are also-rans at best.

Yeh, I saw it.

By the way, I saw you refer to B-paker as a "she". How did you learn that?

Only a woman could cry and whine that much.

For A Chuckle:

http://thehaternation.blogspot.com/2006/02/mike-holmgren-hates-money.html

******

Mike Holmgren Hates Money

He must, because he is going to be donating a whole lot of it to the NFL after his comments on Monday. The Seahawks coach addressed the crowd in Seattle and let them know what he thought of the league's officiating during the Super Bowl.

"We knew it was going to be tough going up against the Pittsburgh Steelers," Holmgren told the fans at Qwest Field. "I didn't know we were going to have to play the guys in the striped shirts as well."

Quit crying.

It's understandable that Holmgren is a little pissed. But the coach of an NFL team should be above using the referees as a scapegoat. Remember the Doug Eddings fiasco in the ALCS? Mike Scioscia would not call out the umpire, instead saying that his team missed some opportunities.

Holmgren should have said, "We knew it was going to be tough going up against the Pittsburgh Steelers, I didn't realize that our kicker couldn't make a field goal, our tight end can't catch, and we can't seem to stop teams on third and 28."

****

Not bad from a blog called "thehaternation".

;-)

>>>>I thought you disbelievers were saying all along that Ben had the ball in his left hand.

I was wrong. If I had seen the play on video a few more times, it would have been obvious where the ball was at what point. The defender came in a little later to knock the ball loose. But that doesn't change the simple fact. The ball never crossed the goal line. I agree with you that having an opportunity to view the entire play with fastforward/rewind/slowmotion would help settle everything. Too bad we don't have that available with tele-conferencing capabilities.

>>>> ... for the life of me, I cannot understand how seemingly relatively intelligent people are so bent out of shape on this.

Some folks are bent outta shape. Not me. OTOH. I'd like to know why you're still posting your opinionated crap to me. Down below you once again find it necessary to take cheap personal pot shots. You have evoked Reagan's name several times, took after me with profanity and you're still not satisfied. Geez louise! And all because I said the following in post #271.

"And Roethlisberger DID NOT make it into the end zone. "

WTF is up with you??? You show a serious problem with people who choose not to agree with you. Haven't you learned after 58 years, THAT'S LIFE! Time to move on. Time for you to get a life.

Btw, have a nice day.

LOL..... you too.

" You show a serious problem with people who choose not to agree with you." --- I have problems with people who don't know how to say they're wrong when they are.

You admit you haven't the video to review as we do here, yet you still claim Ben didn't score. Your still photos are worthless to ascertain the truth.

You're just stone wrong.......... but to tell you the truth, I don't care.

One more thing. Let me tell you, please. When I was watching the game originally Sunday night, when Ben's attempt toward the goal line was made, I didn't think he made it. Then that referee came hustling in from the sideline and BELATEDLY threw up his arms to indicate a TD. I really thought right then ..... this is bull, that ref threw his arms up AFTER Ben had landed then moved his arm with the ball in it over the goal line. I thought right then that Seattle was getting jobbed.

You don't know me. I played professional sports, and I disdain bad officiating, I hate it when good play is punished or not rewarded.

It was only later (this week) that I saw film that clearly illustrated that Ben had the ball over (above) the goal line.

And, as I said before, that was only third down. Cowher has said he would have gone for the TD anyhow if the refs had said Ben was short.

So leave it alone, really. You just don't have the evidence, and it really doesn't matter.

One more thing. I don't appreciate having so many bad vibes with a FReeper with your screen name.

;-)

Oh yeah, you care. Actually you're obsessed with the whole deal and can't let go. Seek professional help immediately.

Then back away from the keyboard and move along. ;^)

Sorry, but I don't think either team will be back next year.
Just my opinion.

Ya, ok but watching Alexander just barely touching the guy when you see other receivers bang into and bump the defensive guy one wonders ....

He'll get fined for sure...but the truth hurts, doesn't it, Pittsburgh?

Still haven't heard of any fining of Mike... guess the league just wants it to go away.

But it won't. STEALER signs will be at every Pitt away game.

There are radio program jocks who are waiting for them to fine Holmgren...they have plans to have the Seattle community chip in to pay the fine. If the NFL is aware of it maybe they don't want to add wood to that smoldering fire.

But it won't. STEALER signs will be at every Pitt away game.

I really don't blame the Steelers players...they're just the beneficiaries of the horrific officiating. The only one I'd see as hypocritical is Porter, who made the exact accusation about the refs the previous game he played in, but when it goes to his advantage to be the NFL darlings and get the bogus calls going their way he sure was quite.

Not to mention that Joey pulled a Freddie Mitchall... All talk and no plays.

Well there were several national polls taken about XL ... 68% polled remembered bad officiating, then came the commercials ... little was remembered about the game ...

It really doesn't matter anymore, the game is history but the officiating will be talked about for some time to come.

IMHO
