Hey Malsua, have you ever looked at VapoChill?

I have thought of getting together with a friend of mine in the A/C business to use a cheap water cooler compressor to achieve the same results, at a fraction of the cost. I've even discussed it with my 15 year old daughter as a project to teach her the joys of building gaming rigs. I let her build my last gaming rig with me and she really enjoyed the experience. Especially when it booted up the first time we hit the power switch. She couldn't believe it really worked! (That is the rig running the same Zalman cooler and Nitrous.) pic

Is that some type of venturi cooler? If so, the ones I've tested were very loud.

I may need to clarify what kind of "water cooler compressor" I'm talking about. The kind you put 5 gallon jugs in so employees have an excuse for not working.

I purchased one for under $80.00 and I can't stop thinking about converting the compressor to cool a processor.

Never looked at VAPOChill.

Neat idea. I'm a gamer. That's why I spent $450 bucks on my video card. hehe. I'm not real big on overclocking though. When I tried that a couple times in the mid 90s, I lost about $1500 bucks blowing up CPUs for my customers(when I ran my own business selling computers). This was before BIOS protected the works. I sorta lost my taste on it.

I'm a big fan of using good coolers on stock CPUs and clocking them to their max and seeing the temps never go over 100f.

I don't do first person shooters so much. Riddick was my most recent. That said, I'm drooling over Oblivian. My rig should run it great. Can't wait, should go gold in the next 10 days.
