Hi Knitting! I've just found you! What a delightful thread. I am knitting a pair of embossed leaf socks from the winter edition of "Knits". Don't ask me why, I have a drawer full of socks, and it is keeping me from finishing a quilt I was going to give my granddaughter for her birthday, then Christmas, now another birthday. Let's face it, it'll probably be a wedding present. But knit I must!

I like your unicorn. I'm doing a pair of Beth Russell's William Morris pillows from charts, finished the hare - still haven't made it into a pillow though, about a fifth of the way through the fox.

TGIG! I never forget it is Friday. I am getting my hair cut tomorrow. My little nephew is being blessed on Sunday. I am going to stitch as much as I can.

I just bought a copy of Lace in the Attic...it's a book based on a victorian notebook of knit lace trim patterns. Looks like it will be fun to play with. I like knitting lace.

I did a scary thing. I went and checked on the prices of some of my older knitting books like Alice Starmore's book on knitting Arans.

Makes me want to go put some of them in a safety deposit box. Some books need ot be reprinted.

I have learned if you find a cool knitting book, better to buy it before it goes out of print. You may never be able to afford it again.

I have a pattern about that same age, 1980s. Also out of date. My husband and I scanned it and I would be happy to share it but don't know how on freepers. I can email it though if you freep mail me I'll figure it out. It's a bean bag nativity set - the usual suspects, a stuffed manger, a palm tree. My mother in law made several when my kids were little and we got the first prototype which I've been lovingly preserving over the years. Most have new beards, a few have new clothes and now the wise men each have a gift. One has an earring someone gave me which is a tiny ubliate with a blue liquid in it, another has a little gold charm and one has a little God box like you can buy at any Hobby Lobby. It just got crowded off of the dining room table since my husband is doing taxes but as soon as that's done, I plan to get to work on a set for my granddaughter.

I just finished a felted knitted totebag this morning. It actually worked. It took 5 washings to get it right, though. Does anyone else do felted projects? I made a brimmed felted hat last month. It's pretty hot to wear so I don't think I'll be wearing it a lot.

My sil sent me a pattern for gloves. Her's turned out fabulous! I might give it a shot next winter. I'm not real keen on doing all those fingers though...

I have a mouse house pattern which is really cool. It's made with the plastic canvas for support. Furniture, rabbits, mice or bears, and tiny clothes. I've made so many for the little ones. Thanks for the offer on the nativity, it sounds really great, but I don't think I'll have the time for that one. But, I know where to look if I change my mind. There's just so much out there. I'm toying with a fisherman's afghan, just what I need..... I've got so many projects to finish, my head is spinning. So, what do I do? Post here on FR. LOL!

I've only felted by accident, but I have seen some gorgeous felted items. I'd like to make me a felted tam and a haversack, but haven't gotten started on either.

Sound as bad as me...lots of time I knit while reading FR...I have toyed with the idea of getting software to post by voice so I could post and knit at the same time...
