Lucky duck!
This calls for some bread/cookie haikus:
Munching breads all day Cinnamon, Cheese and Cookies Hotel supplies us Eating free cookies Sugar, Choco Chip with nuts My belt grows quite tight
Those are cute.....and so true. I'm on sugar overload. The cinnamon bread, my favorite, is like a giant cinnamon roll, about 12" across and 3 to 4 inches high.
Ms Feather, without pretense
Greets all with her effervescence.
Come one, come all to the lair
If poetic, show us your flair.
If poetry isn't your thing no matter.
Just delight us with some chatter.
A bit of caution with you I leave,
Just let the dragonflies be!
~peli~
This is too cute...accurate, but cute!
Good morning, you two
you've beaten me here
Shagster with the music
Pelikan with the brew!
So kind of you
to be here to greet me
I left the light on
as fatima and Johnn
lingered here.
The muse kept going
round my head
nary a moment of sleep
I got.
The giggles moved in
round three am
as a mirthful poem
begun to spin.
'Twas all in my head
never made the pen
spose it will come
back again??

Good morning to you Lady!
A lovely dragonfly I see
brought into the Lair by thee
flowers colored on the stem
with the Dragonfly hovering
o'er them
Thank You for the gift
of them
gracing the parlor
on a whim!
MARCH BLUES
The firewood supply is dwindling;
Almost all that's left is kindling.
Woodstoves sputter, pale and sickly.
Spring had better come, and quickly!

Hello, Martin Fierro
welcome to you
a visitor here to The Lair
an interesting name
you display, come round
again as is your wont
the doors as open
the Dragonfly sleeps not.

A Dream Within A Dream
by Edgar Allan Poe
Take this kiss upon the brow!
And, in parting from you now,
Thus much let me avow-
You are not wrong, who deem
That my days have been a dream;
Yet if hope has flown away
In a night, or in a day,
In a vision, or in none,
Is it therefore the less gone?
All that we see or seem
Is but a dream within a dream.
I stand amid the roar
Of a surf-tormented shore,
And I hold within my hand
Grains of the golden sand-
How few! yet how they creep
Through my fingers to the deep,
While I weep- while I weep!
O God! can I not grasp
Them with a tighter clasp?
O God! can I not save
One from the pitiless wave?
Is all that we see or seem
But a dream within a dream?
Did I ever tell you I met one of the Poe Toasters online? You know the annual leaving of three roses & a bottle of cognac at his grave? The amazing thing about that is, yes, there is a group of them who do it on different years, sworn to honor the secret, and none of them knows who the others are (of course one must, but otherwise it's even a mystery to them).
No, I don't think you've shared that one. Amazing, the secret continues.
I am aware of the Poe Toasters.
Poe was a strange one for sure, but I do love his poetry.
It's noon on THE coast...
the ONE that matters.
All is quiet.
In the night owls sing
Enter the daylight.
Now whispering.
Twas a frost at morns 'ginning
a new day of winning.
Par for the course.
A horse is a horse
by any other name.
Smells funny.
