European thoughts : Two point to understand why you should NEVER vote for a Liberal

I want, as a 22-years-old European (from Switzerland), to convince you (with two points, there are many others but these two are important for the ongoing war) why it’s so important that you never vote for any Liberal (Democrat) in America. I have no family in America, I’ve spent all my life in an almost radical liberal Europe (while travelling to the US six times), I read every day liberal newspapers and watch liberal TV, I hear every day liberal points of views by people moving by liberal ideas, so no one can accuse me of being motivated by anything but personal beliefs. I am writing this at home and my sole purpose is that it can have some effect to Americans who, sometimes, don’t realize what it means to live in liberal-land. Liberals are not teaching history, they’re making a new one. They’re driving not by their duty, but by fashionable beliefs like racial differences, “New Age” religion, political program, nostalgia (mostly for the most evil things that happened in the past). One of the most disturbing and enduring myth about US history is the teaching of the American West: murderous Whites were beating to death wonderful Good Savages. By mixing real events with their own beliefs, liberal historians and writers are creating new lies which often stand for decades. Native American author James Welch, who was writing a book about General Custer and the Plains Indians in 1994 (1), knew that he could do whatever he wanted by pointing about “US bad treatments of Native Americans”. He lied about Custer and spent most of his time talking about the famous “Native American genocide.” It’s a pure liberal lie (or Ward Churchill’s lie), yet everyone has heard about it and almost everyone thinks it’s true. In Europe, political correctness about history is our daily gospel. We have only few books about US history (I mean an objective study) but countless “gospels” by Ward Churchill, Howard Zinn, Noam Chomsky and everyone who’s able to transform political correctness and lies to an historical-like book. That’s the reason that so many Europeans, under applauds by the elites, are wearing Che Guevarra shirts and putting Communist flags and banners in our European universities and even in the streets without any problem (or even remark, it’s the divine silence). We even have invented a new word: “anticommunist”, which means someone who is so ill-informed about communism that he could think it’s a bad idea, or someone hateful who’s probably a victim of the bad capitalist propaganda… __________ (1) James Welch, Killing Custer, New York, W. Unlike the liberal, who’s working along with political correctness, a conservative historian often picks up unfashionable stuff. He’ll we easily be attacked by “bien pensants” and other activists who won’t challenge his facts, but will attack him and talk about “accepted facts”. Many conservative historians will, for example, challenge the “Native American genocide” by making serious researches, reading lots of materials, challenging their own conclusions. They’ll do their homework… but will be under fire anyway by liberals. Many of these liberals will call the historian a fascist and racist and will wonder how it could affect modern Native American people.

Here’s what Historian Stafford Poole (1) said : “There is many words to describe what happened in the North Hemisphere, but «genocide» is not one of them. It’s a good piece of propaganda in times when devises and tempers have taken the place of thoughts and knowledge […]” The “genocide” is a pure liberal lie. Native Americans died by sicknesses, which were mostly their own and some European like smallpox or flu. No genocide here. Historians are yelling that there was actually NO attempt by the US government to exterminate the Native Americans, but liberals are using Hollywood to run over their works. The “genocide” myth goes on with considerable success. Liberals are gambling with US guiltiness about the Conquest of the Native American lands. An other example: everyone has heard about the Sand Creek Massacre, when 150 Cheyennes were killed by Colorado militias in 1864. This massacre has been played again and again in TV and books to show how horrible were the militias. The Cheyennes were allegedly peaceful and tolerant. Cheyenne chief Black Kettle is still depicted as a holy man. Like the “genocide” story, this story is still in top of the news (because it’s full of what liberals love: US “imperialism”, bad US white men, peaceful minority, atrocities by US white men).

Here’s what Historian Gregory F. Michno (1) discovered : the Cheyennes of Sand Creek were in fact raiding (the soft word for massacring civilians) across Colorado since the end of 1863. 200 men, women and children were killed. A whole family was cut in pieces in the summer of 1864. Cheyenne chief Black Kettle met some Army officials, but they didn’t agree on anything and Black Kettle came back in his village with two white hostages, two little boys kidnapped near Fort Kearny. He didn’t free them. Cheyenne warriors didn’t stop their massacres. On November 27 1864, angry Colorado militias, people who were amazed by the fear that Indians spread in Colorado, attacked the village with real brutality (however, historian Michno found that many of the testimonies about US crimes during the encounter were forgeries).

You must confess that we see the story under a new light that no liberal would ever look for. Liberals simply don’t care about seeking truth and Hollywood is on their side. School teachers and schoolbooks writers are also on their sides. In Europe, schoolbooks are full of political correctness, which means putting “social pressing” on the people who’re seeking the truth. Is that acceptable? The Port deal controversy seems to have fooled Americans about liberal’s views. Polls are showing that many Americans now think that Democrats could handle the US security almost as well as the Republicans. My main thought is: are you KIDDING? As a Swiss citizen living in Switzerland and picking up facts about the US by the Web, I don’t have the day-by-day news in the US. However, I’ve travelled enough in the US to see plenty of evidence that Democrats are linking with anarchist groups all over the country (Cindy Sheehan, anyone?), are making scandals about ridiculous events (Cheney’s accident), are transforming important security matters to “People Magazine” debates. Liberals aren’t doing something, they’re just reacting to something that other have thought about. As we say in Switzerland: they are mostly “nein-sager”, or “say-no” people.

You almost can prevent a Democrat answer to any Security question a decade before it happened. The short list would be: - “Nothing is evil, it’s always “some kind of… but”. - “Nothing can be carried out without 50 years of training and 70 years of debate.” - “Aggressiveness, decision, leadership are not the answer. Charm, eloquence, futility are.” - “War is not good.” - “Dialogue and diplomacy are changing everything.” - “Freedom… What freedom ? What the hell are you talking about ?” - “A dictatorship can be dropped with persuasion.” - “Immigrants should be all welcomed unless the USA are badly racists.” - “Poverty creates all the troubles of the world.” - “Democracy… What democracy ? What the hell…” - “Black people are put in prison because they’re black.” - “The Death Penalty is bad, because killing people is bad.” - “There’s always something to be linked with Vietnam.” - “Awful right-wing, rich, powerful old men are behind every war and decide what happens on the battlefield.”

About the War on Terror, I saw liberals who cared more about Gitmo detainees than Iraqi civilians or Iraqi bodies in mass graves. I saw TVs shows that spent much time bashing the US military and debating about the real nature of Iraqi “insurgents” (a new soft word for bloodthirsty terrorists. It looks like Europe in 1970s, when the North Vietnamese invasion was called “Victory of the People” while the boat people were fleeing the country and dying). I saw anchors telling their viewers day after day that Iraq was a new quagmire even before any US soldier had begun the fight. I saw an entire Democratic Party using the same (and I know what I’m talking about, I’m living close to France), EXACTLY the same propaganda the French are using against America: a kind of indirect anti-US propaganda which says that one cares about the War on Terror but thinks the war isn’t correctly led (but no alternative is of course given, it’s just an empty advice to create doubts). In fact, Democrats are like the French: they simply don’t care about the ongoing of the war. They spend so much time talking about their own guiltiness of being Western than they almost want terrorists to kill them. They’re applauding Michael Moore, who said that US soldiers were Nazi-like, George Clooney, whose movie “Syriana” could have been made by Bin Laden, and last but not least, they are voting for Howard Dean as their new leader – the man who said that taking Saddam “has not made America safer”(1).

Their last Presidential nominee, John “Hanoi” Kerry, who said himself that he was a war hero and supported the soldiers, said this famous and eloquently address to support the troops: “There’s no reason, Bob, that young American soldiers need to be going into the homes of the Iraqis in the dead of night, terrorizing kids and children, you know, women.”(2). Jane Fonda couldn’t have said a more hopeful address to the troops. By directing their guns toward President Bush, by wasting ammunition against him, Democrats are showing their real face: they say loudly that they’re ready to put down an entire offensive only for political gains or for the joy to see a political enemy down. They’re also ready to put their weapons down in front of the foe only to have a short time of peace. Appeasement: “If you close your eyes, troubles are gone.”

That’s exactly how Europe works. After Iran officials said that the nuclear power would rise in their country, some Swiss journalists said that the Iranian dictator wasn’t as frightening as some thought (and then they said that President Bush was in fact, as always, the cause of the tensions by being firm). French newspapers are telling every day to their readers that Islamic terrorists are not as bad as they seemed to be. They are just “different” and should probably stay quiet with a good dialogue (3)

And that’s how France works. In a chapter called “France in the Islamic trap”, Terrorism Expert and 9/11 detective Jean-Charles Brisard showed how French officials tried to be friends with the Islamic thinkers. Yussef Al Qaradaoui, a 9/11 apologist and Bin Laden strongly supporter, was called a “great conscience of Islam” by the Ministry of Foreigh Affairs Michel Barnier in 2004 (4). Believe me, it’s every day like that. I don’t think that Americans realize how low we (liberal countries) have gone. We have no serious army (except Great Britain, but Britain since World War II have always been our moral saviours), because having an army is an aggressive decision. Most polices are unable to cut the Islamic rise all across the Continent, because maybe it’s the police which is too firm with the Islamists. Leftists are occupying our libraries, our bookstores, our universities. Our elites don’t care about what we think and even don’t care about the daily reality (see the Chirac’s outstanding behaviour with the 2005 riots). There is almost no debate on TV. We are all here to agree with those above. We have plenty of books by anti-globalization activists or about “the next US economic breakdown” (same tune all over again) but few about the War on Terror (about World War IV, in fact) and almost none in French about the meaning of this war. It wasn’t any real debate before the Iraq war. Saddam Hussein’s mass graves were almost not covered by newspapers. The brave and steady President Bush is depicted every day as a mix of religious folly (often put in the same level as the Islamic radicalism) and awful beliefs (eager for war, thinks that Whites should put down Muslims, want the world to come to Armageddon). The new freedom of the Iraqis was depicted as the “Fall of Baghdad”, which suggested that the entire Iraqi city (and not the Iraqi regime) was put down by the Americans. The neo-conservative idea, which is by far the most human philosophy ever created on this planet as far as I know, is depicted as a dark conspiracy by some suspicious thinkers (no one is of course forgetting the old anti-Semitic ideas directly taken from Islamic thinkers and the European past).

That’s how we are right now. And we are the kind of people that liberals love to hear from New York to Los Angeles. In fact, every movie actor, singer or political activist come one day in Europe to tell us how his/her country is so bad. Like a garbage can, we welcome every single-minded movie which says that the real terrorists are the ones who are actually fighting terrorism. Make no mistake: George Clooney’s next movies about how America is a police-state will enjoy a huge success over here. Some Swiss journalists even said that Hollywood was the new American “think thank”.

Welcome aboard the “Titanic”. Because liberals are in command, I can assure you that we’ll smash the exact middle of the iceberg without even trying to make a move. When people who actually want to be dead are in command of the boat, we have no chance to escape our fate. It’s a death trap. I am in. Welcome to blind liberal land. Kennedy and Clinton are our superstars (Kerry was one at a time). They were great speakers, charming, but useless when it came to security. It’s useless to say that Reagan and Bush, depicted as astonishing idiots, are hated. If the “Titanic” had a good commander, it wouldn’t be the “Titanic” anymore. And the liberals couldn’t accept that. We are the bad Western thieves, with our unfashionable rights, our boring beliefs and our stupid pride, aren’t we? We are the bad. In every good tale, the bad have to loose at the end. Liberals are working with that purpose in mind.

Because past and present proved and proves that conservatives (driving by neo-conservatives) are working with facts and driving by logical and human ideas.

Because if I really thought that Europe murky “pacifism” was the answer to evil, I wouldn’t spend my time writing this text. In fact, Switzerland has no real enemy (neutral!) and people think that the USA are making their own enemy. Our newspapers are telling us that it’s not our problem. So what? What should I care? I am a 22 years old student in a peaceful country which has never known war and will certainly never know any.

The reason is: I don’t want to be like countless generations before me who said that “they didn’t know» despite the fact that everybody knew, or felt that it could happen. WWI, Auschwitz, WWII, gulags, laogais, Vietnam, Kigali massacres, Halabja or 9/11 were done because the liberal endless debates proved useless. Because our liberal elites all across the world taught us “pragmatism” instead of telling us what it really was : “cynicism”, “criminal indifference”, “blindness to danger”. Because people were taught that the Kennedy-like doctrine (the infamous “we should study our own attitude toward Soviet Union”) and the Clinton-like Doctrine (a missile in a camel butt) were normal, useful. History has proven that these theories created killings and insecurity. With these theories, we are loosing our soul by ignoring the suffering of others before suffering ourselves. The Islamic friends of the Liberals (who are now welcomed in Yale University, just like countless others in European universities !) have taught one things to their useful friends: the best way to commit suicide.

If I am probably in the middle of the mess, in the Old Continent which will commit hara-kiri in a hurry, I have too much love for the United States, for US history (the Civil War, The Alamo, Custer’s Last Stand, WWI, WWII, Vietnam, Gulf War… Much more exciting than the boring kings-against-emperors-against-counts-against-queens-against-middle-class activists stories we have here…) and for the United States ideas to let you be fooled by liberals.

The liberal dream is what we are living here, and everyday we are falling on the floor with great pain. Don’t forget what you were, what you are.

Thank you for post this very interesting article. Frankly, so many of the people I know here are sick to death of Europe and their sneering cowardice, we'd just as soon see it fail. It's right on the edge now, as far as I can tell.

It is refreshing and heartening to hear from a young man who seems to have a grasp of the situation. You have reminded me that I am a first generation American, and my life could have been very different if my parents hadn't made the extremely difficult decision to come here.

I explained my view of the world view of America(!) to some dear Canadian friends by using the most common tool of America bashing, CNN and liberal media. CNN was the only American news allowed in Canada at the time, and my friends were distressed by what they saw on that channel. I told them that they are just looking through a keyhole when they sit and listen and believe that bilge. Our world has become much smaller, thanks to the Internet, and it is a byproduct of this fact that people across the world are now pretty much "the neighbors", and as we used to say here, "THERE GOES THE NEIGHBORHOOD!" It's something from the civil rights days, but we got through it!
I asked my friends to open the door and take a good look inside. They did. You did. That's good news to me!
