My recap:

Elliot - More of his great voice on display in both songs. Kinda bland though and he was back to some of his old hoppy movements on "Broadway". That Buble song bites, but he did fine with it. He should survive, but will need a "moment" soon to make it all the way. Don't ever count this talented yet humble young man out though!

Paris - I think we all know it's the end of the line for her. She needed to hit a HR, but managed only a couple of singles. She is never bad, but not great often enough to win over new fans. I actually agree with Abdohol that she is better with the "old stuff". Hope she sticks with singing and not gyno.

Chris - I can't add to what Links said - ..."two songs 26 years apart but indistinguishable". Judges, don't blame his tired voice for something y'all would have crapped on everyone else for - that second song was screechy and irritating. What are his concerts gonna be like after a few songs (and how do you know when one song ends and another begins)? "Renegade" was good Daughtry-stuff though and he isn't going anywhere. He hasn't had a serious misstep yet in regards to song choice or overall performance. He won't beat himself, someone will have to knock him off.

Kat - Shouldn't Fox be airing her performances after 10 PM, when the kids are asleep? I think she has figured out her only way to be A-1 on AI is to show plenty of T & A. The first song was dreadful, I mean Pickler-bad. Off the whole song and a terrible choice and arrangement to boot. Definitely vote-off-able. But she benefitted the most from the two-song format and did a decent job with the Turnstall tune. The drums helped her as she went through some yoga apparently. Catchy song, and while new and hip, also had a classic flavor to it. Saved her bacon probably.

Taylor - Make no mistake, this was HIS night. Gave us both Elvises in one hour (if that is the theme next week, look out competition). The first song, er, performance was a big hairy moon to Simon and Nigel, and a tip of the cap to his fans who know he got the shaft last week. Only Taylor can get away with that act, and he did. Notable was him showing that old uninhibited joy during the banter w/Ryan too, something we've only seen on SNL as of late. The second song, "Something", was exquisite, and a perfect way to offset his first selection. He was so into this song, yet kept it tender, sweet and soulful. Of all the contestants, he used the two-song format the best - showing two completely different sides, each crowd-pleasers in their own way.

The judges continue to completely alienate me. They once were so integral, now they just seem to be a waste of time until the next song. Overall, not a night of greatness, but positions are being soldified leading up to the finale.

I think Taylor gained, Chris and Elliot stood firm, Kat slipped a tad, and Paris is waving buh-bye.

I agree! I would add that I think Elliot might have gained on Chris tonight.

I'm thinking we might see a Taylor/Elliot final. Wouldn't THAT just rot Simon's sox?

That was a great recap, and you were dead on about Paris.
