IBM Team Builds A Possible Heir To Silicon Chip

Researchers at International Business Machines Corp. say they have built a simple electric circuit on a single, cylindrical molecule of carbon known as a "carbon nanotube," potentially a key step toward one day creating a faster successor to silicon-based chips.
