I've lost 37 lbs on the "Pie and Burrito" diet. Not kidding. I use "Stockton Sugarless Pie filling" for breakfast and desert and make burritos with loads of vegetables and some meat and cheese. Reduces the load of carbs I've been eating after I eliminated bread from my diet. I'm not able to break past 197 right now, but at that weight there's not much fat left and I'd have to lose muscle. Still, less than 3 months. I think the key thing is the bread, Glutens just don't agree with my family. I truly believe that many of Northern European descent may find similar success with this approach. I also recomment "The Zone" by Dr. Sears for more information on a safe low-carb meal regiment.

Good luck all.

Cool calculator you found. Thanks for the link.

Mrs. L is on South Beach which pretty much means I'm on South Beach. I haven't done the hardcore first two weeks, mostly because giving up beer is an inhuman thing to ask me to do. Two a day can't be all that bad....

Anyway the weights melting off of her. Me? I'm not gaining any more which is good.

Last week I went through cuadruple bypass surgery and am recovering slowly at home. I have a treadmill and free wieghts and want to get back to exercising as soon as I can. Since they removed most of the arteries from my left leg to replace the ones in my heart I notice my feet and legs swells up quite a bit. Can I still use the treadmill? How soon can I start exercising? They are removing the stiches on 6 April.

I hope someone out there that has had the same medical condition can offer me some advice.
