SAN DIEGO (AP) - A fan tossed a syringe near Barry Bonds as he came off the field in between innings on Monday at Petco Park, and the San Francisco Giants slugger said he picked it up in his glove and carried it off the field.

"If that's what they want to do, embarrass themselves, then that's on them. That has nothing to do with me at all." Giants slugger Barry Bonds after a fan at Petco Park tossed a syringe at him Monday. (Chris Park / Associated Press)

The syringe apparently did not have a needle.

"I just put it off the field so no one would get hurt," said Bonds, who is under investigation by baseball for alleged steroid use.

Maybe I'll take a few to Augusta next week and toss them at Tiger.

He's got that OJ look on his face, although "The Juice" was never accused of being a juicer.

I'm surprised no one was arrested for 'terroristic threats' or some other such nonsense. Usually the police would arrest somebody...anybody. LE must be slipping.

Yup, Petco "where the pets go". Soon to be renamed BALCO Stadium.

Not a good idea to throw stuff at the players, no matter how you feel about them. In the past fans have thrown
batteries (hey, assault with a battery); souvenier baseballs;
etc.

What next? Tropicana Field in Tampa becomes Depends Park?

Barry Bonds playing at opponents ball parks this season is going to be very ugly. I look for some serious confrontations at some of the stadiums. At home of course they will treat him as a hero. Liberal hypocrisy in full view of the country.
