They are so popular in England that we can now get them all year round, when I was younger you would only find them in the bakers at Easter.
What has happened now is that with all major supermarkets having an in store bakery we now find that items that were only available certain times of the year are now made all year round. Crumpets and muffins are another example they only used to be available in the winter.
