Ailing Liz Taylor is 'close to death'
Daily Mail ^ | 4/27/2006 | Staff

Liz Taylor is facing death after her heart began to fail, it has been reported. The Oscar-winner, 74, is confined to her bedroom and has apparently planned her funeral.

Insiders say the British-born star would like to be buried next to former husband Richard Burton.

"Liz is inching closer to death every day and she knows it. It is not a pretty picture," a friend said.

"She's not leaving a lot of money to her children. She wants the bulk of her fortune to go to AIDS research."

Doctors say patients who suffer from such heart disease could hasten their death by becoming depressed.

New York-based heart specialist Dr Richard Stein, who has not treated the Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? star, said: "Once a person gives up hope the prognosis is very poor."

Best wishes and Thanks to Liz for sharing and living an interesting life, to say the least.

Unless they are the reincarnation of satan, I hope her children hate her.

What a bizarre thing to say. Why is it evil for her not to leave her money to her (adult) children?

She can leave her money to whoever she wants to.

There's no law that says the 'children' gets it all. Some kids deserve nothing.

I'm sorry to hear this. I hope her last days are as peaceful and comfortable as possible.

Is it bizarre to believe in sharing your wealth with your family first? I would never, ever bypass my family to give my fortune to help cure what is a 95% behavioral driven disease.

Liz Taylor has fought illness all her life. I hope her last days are peaceful.

Pity she got wrapped up in the AIDS stuff - so many causes were the victims are innocent. Still it's her money to do with as she pleases.

Thanks, Liz, for some great entertainment. You truly are a STAR!

She has had her downhill skates on for a while. She did not lead an exemplary life but she certainly did life her own way. I do hope that God blesses her and gives her peace when it's her time.

I think the story makes that clear.

There's no law that says the 'children' gets it all. Some kids deserve nothing.

Who cited a law? I was stating that it's OK from my point for her kids to hate her if she doesn't even trust them with her fortune. Also per my original post, all bets are off if they are adult brats.

Thanks for the pics.

The second one is from The Sandpiper - great movie!

They sure made a handsome couple.

Isn't it a conservative belief that you can spend and do with your money as you choose?

I admire her,
always have, always will.

Blessings to her as she passes into the next life.

You might have other causes, and that's fine. Warren Buffett is among those who is against large inheritances for children. One factor is how much someone needs (or possibly, deserves) an inheritance.

Taylor has four children, all adults, and you do not know (nor do you need to know) what provision she may have already made for them during her lifetime. AIDS has been a cause of hers for a long time; you are free to donate to your causes as well, as my husband and I do.
