Let 'em Boycott Every Monday...Heck Every day...Traffic is much lighter!
FREEPers

Driving around South Florida today is a pleasure. The traffic is lighter, the stores are open but not packed, and frankly it is much more enjoyable to engage in commerce.

Anyone else experience this?

No. Actually, traffic into Lincoln this morning was unusually heavy. Walking around downtown, I can't see any evidence of the boycott at all.

I agree.

Had to go on an errand about noon. Our street corners were clean, neat, no people standing around, throwing trash on the ground.

The stores I visited, business was good, and friendly, without the illegals lurking about.

Very nice day, my opinion.

I like my Chinese cooked by Mexicans, so I might have a problem if I decide to eat Chinese on Mondays.

I actually don't mind it - it was much quieter on the streets here in NYC this morning and no one really cares - I had 3 lunches delivered today by hispanics and I tipped them very happily and I went to get my own lunch and every single hispanic was working today. Not one store in my area I work in was closed. THEY CERTAINLY DID NOT CLOSE DOWN NYC!

30 hour commute was 15 minutes. My wife reported no waiting in lines at Costco.

I had lunch at my favorite Japanese restaurant today. The owner and manger were in the kitchen doing the cooking (not the ususal bunch of Mexicans). The manager told me that the people who didn't show today were off the schedule. He said he was going to be posting several openings tomorrow and already had taked applications from two JR college students.

Perhaps the wrong day to do it, but we needed a break after working 7-days-a-week, 12 hours a day for the last 4 months. Feels good to take a day off. We closed today.

Most of the shops in the downtown section are also closed Everyone seems to have taken the day off even if they don't support the boycott.

Figured there would be little business anyhow, so why not take a break. Definately needed it.

I hate to diverge off subject - but I've never had Japanese food before. Just Chinese and Korean.

How is it? I'm not a fan of seafood so I'd have to settle for beef or pork.

The traffic is lighter

But I'd wager the number of licensed and insured drivers is the same.
