Dogs Did Not Have Identification; Rabies Tests Under Way
INDEPENDENCE, Mo. -- Police shot and killed three pit bulls Thursday night after the pack mauled three men, KMBC's Kris Ketz reported.
The three separate attacks all occurred within the same block of East 23rd Street and Kings Highway.
All three victims were taken to local hospitals. Two are in serious condition, and one is in critical condition.
The pit bulls first attacked a man walking down East 23rd Street at about 6 p.m. The man jumped in the back of a nearby pickup to try to evade the dogs. A woman driving by stopped to help and used a tire iron to scare the dogs away.

Apparently, something about lawnmowers sets them off. Every dog I've had is scared sh*&%$less of a lawnmower, yet the Pits have no problem pulling a human off one.
A cop in Richland Hills, TX had to shoot a pitbull off the arm of it's owner two nights ago...it was the only way to make it let go of the arm.
They actually sell an item called a "Break stick" for prying the jaws of a pit bull off other dogs. Sounds like the owner didn't have his "break stick" handy.
