The saga continues in the Bronx this week. The Sox send out Beckett, Wakefield and Schilling. The Yankees counter with Randy Johnson, Mike Mussina and Shawn Chacon.
The New York Post ran a back cover story questioning why anyone has not dared to throw at David Ortiz.. (maybe because he is 6' 4" and weighs 250 lbs) Sox offseason pickup Josh Beckett returns to Yankee Stadium for the first time since Game 6 of the 2003 World Series.
Series returns to NY after an abbreviated series last week in Boston where Boston fans expressed their true feelings about Johnny Damon.
Eck used the word "alarming" at least four times on the post-game show regarding Beckett's performance tonight...
I totally agree. At least Beckett handled his post-game interview tonight - the clips they showed on NESN anyway - in a mature fashion. In his post-game interviews after that disasterous Toronto game, he came across as an immature, arrogant punk, IMO...
The Marlins had a pitcher named Josh Beckett who beat the Yanks in Game 6 of the '03 World Series (deciding game).
Shut them out. Must not be the same guy.

It was called Tapas. I never did get my meal. Finally left. No, could not hear what they were talking about except that one of the wives came in well after the others and they commented on her "wrap" (read that very skimpy). She did a swirl to be noticed by me..I think...since she looked over her shoulder at me. I just rolled my eyes and laughed.

Hansen called up

The Red Sox today recalled righthanded pitcher Craig Hansen from Triple-A Pawtucket. To make room for Hansen, reliever Jermaine Van Buren was optioned back to the PawSox.
David Wells will travel to San Diego sometime in the next three days to visit with Dr. Jan Fronek to get a second opinion on his contused right knee. Dr. Fronek operated on Wells's right knee in the offseason.
Mike Timlin, who is eligible to come off the disabled list Saturday, is now not expected to pitch for the Sox until Tuesday or Wednesday of next week.
Terry Francona said Keith Foulke would be looked at [by the Sox medical staff] this afternoon and that the team "may be forced into making a move." Foulke has had back stiffness recently.

It isn't about how hard you can throw it, it's making it move, changing speeds and staying near the K zone that matters.

LOL. NESN training their cameras on Sopranos' "Bobby Baccala", sitting behind the Yankees' dugout. He looks like so many Yank fans my husband and I always run into at Yankee Stadium, except they are in (too tight) Yankee pinstripe jerseys, and aren't smiling like "Bobby" is right now... ;-)
