On all day today.
I’m listening - and loving it! They keep asking for ‘60s airchecks, but the ‘70s suit me just fine :-D
One of the highlights of Memorial Day is the annual tradition of listening to recordings of the “old” WABC, which I am too young to remember. The last AM music-oriented station I can remember was 660 WNBC, with Imus in the morning, followed by Howard Stern and Soupy Sales.
.
Hi Coleus! I’m lovin’ it, as always! Tony Orlando sounded great, huh? I can’t wait to hear Dan Ingram later, although I pray he steers clear of politics! I have the TUMS by my radio, just in case... ;-)

If you really want to hear “golden oldies” from Talk Radio, specifically Frank from Queens and John from Staten Island, they have their own radio show, it’s on right now. After the show sometimes until 2-2:30 AM John will play classic phone calls from Frank and John to national and NY talk shows. Hysterical stuff.
Listen live from the link here, they’re on now.

All the talk shows started phasing out Frank and John when they started their own talk show. One of Bob’s call screeners wasn’t letting Frank on apparently for a while. Bob always gave Frank and John unlimited time on his show, unlike other hosts. “Vintage Frank, vintage Frank, never better, can’t argue with a word of it”
The good old days, if you stay up you’ll hear many classic Frank and John calls to Bob, Jay Diamond, debating Alan Colmes, etc.
