I have never got the "doesn't know right from wrong" defense.

If these kids don't know it is wrong to do wrong then why do they do it. In other words in this case, if she did not know it was wrong to poison the milk, that it would have an evil outcome, then why bother to do it? She did not poison her own milk. Why not if there is nothing wrong with it? She did not go out of the house naked to school because she knows that is wrong, etc. She is The Bad Seed.

You are absolutely right. My words of not knowing right from wrong, were said in more of a general sense. She knew it was wrong to do that. But the parents did not set a strong enough example to counter the 13 year-old(I wanna be me and get even, dilemma). And since the parents didn't set the example, the child perceives they can get away with it. More than likely, the parents are cheaters, and liars, and in my opinion, just all around, pigs. So where does the child go from there? But, that still doesn't mean there are no consequenses. There must always be strong consequenses for bad behavior, regardless of age...
