Unless some guy at the house turns, this is so going to go away, perhaps even soon.

They have all sorts of problems with the lineup, and probably PC for searches as well.

He wants to know why trying to run over a cop with a stolen car is a misdemeanor! Hee-hee-hee!!

This is going to be good.

I don't know--he is interested in how many times Nifong personally signed bond reductions for any felony defendant.

PS, and when it does, DA's "attaboys" with the AA community are going up in smoke.

What does he have? The confused and contradictory words of a drunken convicted criminal employee of an escort service who was shown pictures of only the people at the party and who had sex with only one man, her boyfriend and whose broken fingernails might have had DNA of some men at party who will say she grabbed at them to prevent her falling when she fell down in drunken stupor.

Not a strong case.

Still don't know about the toxicology reports. What if sleazy Kim slipped the false accuser a mickey so she could steal her money? They'll blame the Duke boys. I still wonder why the FA suddenly needed money so badly that she started stripping again 2 months before the fateful night at Duke. How was she supporting herself before that?

Turns? That sort of implies something happened. Other than her ever changing testimony there seems to be no evidence of rape by the lacrosse team. Now maybe her pimp raped her but how would any of the guys at the house know about that?

Nifong may want it to dissipate slowly before trial, but he has screwed too many people.

He crossed a line when he refused to speak with the attorneys.

Did he sign a bond reduction for Kim or for Crystal?

I think she was in the massage parlors before that. On the last thread, I asked if we were wrong when talking about a pimp.

How about a Madam? Maybe the owner of the white car was the madam?

He signed off on a reduction for Kim right after they picked her up for the parole violation; which was about the time her story changed.

My thought exactly. Maybe Crystal Gail Mangum has a little black book, and maybe Nifong's name is in it.

Actually not necessarily. The famous "prisoner's dilemma" show that people are under pressure to "confess" even when they did not do anything.

In the real world people often confess to minor things to give prosecutors a fig leaf for dropping charges they can not prove. I believe one of the indicted lacrosse players might have taken deferred adjudication for the Georgetown shoving match where he did nothing wrong. Rather than fight it, you say you did in exchange for having your record expunged. It will be interesting to see what happens if that case now comes to trial.

The Newsweek reporterette said on Greta that Nifong truly believes this woman.

Even if I hold my nose and give him that, it still does not explain his actions. If he truly believed that a rape occured, he should be chomping at the bit to have a sit down with the boys.

The woman from Newsweek is just buying Nifong spin. He may want to believe the woman because he is a male hating male feminazi. But having a closed mind is not the same things believing the woman. He would believe the woman no matter what the set of facts.

And Nifong has to pretend he really really believes the Hooker. He might get sued and have ethics charges brought up against him otherwise.
