Apple products are hated by internet whiners because they don't have disposable funds. Sounds about right. Most internet whiners are either too young to get even a part-time job, or too lazy to get one.

It's amazing what envy and free time will do to people.

There is definitely iPod envy out there. Those that cannot afford to own an iPod will not only convince themselves that they have "no intention of ever owning an iPod" but they will, in an effort to bolster their own self-esteem, criticize others for even owning such an overpriced, overrated and inferior device.

It reminds me of the joke the once-living comedian used to make about having to convince himself that what he just thought of wasn't funny because he was too lazy to get out of bed and walk across the room to get a pen and write it down.

I'm far from rich. I budget, drive an eight-year-old car, and generally live modestly.

But I have two luxuries that I consider "worth it."

High-quality sheets (if you go over 400 count, you'll never go lower, I promise) and my iMac G5.
