20 years ago, and the number was 1 million which actually turned into 3 million. For 20 years we have had laws on the books for what has been taking place, but the Federal Government has turned a blind eye on 10 to 12 million illegals who under the 1986 law shouldn't be here. I'm glad you brought up the 1986 though so that we can be clear. Amnesty doesn't stop the flow, and laws don't matter when you don't enforce them.
Perhaps, too, landlords will lower the rents they charge, home owners will be willing to sell for less, medical services will become more affordable, and utilities will lower their rates to bring the cost of living in line with the new Mexican wages.
excellent point.
and this thing with Nafta and the super highway coming along just extends the pinko baloney that has been and still is our government.
it is just the political gain that they want. They will lose it if they keep this up.
I may be naive but does this not have to come to a vote? I know that it would have to be approved by congress for the money but with spain privately owning it, it still has to come to a vote, right?
