Hammes confirmed Kansas City plans to house a Mexican customs facility in the city's port, but she pointed out it will handle outbound U.S. freight exclusively, not inbound.

Do any of you even realize how complete without even the SLIGHTEST bit of rationality your rantings here are? OUT BOUND traffic. Get it? Stuff we are shipping TO THEM. This is being done the same way US Customs checks things coming to the US from foreign ports. But of course bothering to learn the facts would eliminate any excuse for posting the daily mindless hysteria and paranoid ranting of the Freeper Know Nothings. No fools like old fools. I suppose we should be use to this utter lack of anything approaching rationality in these utterly ignorant Chicken Little postings.

Actually, the article clearly talks about two-way shipping. Chill.

MNJonnie said "OUT BOUND traffic. Get it? Stuff we are shipping TO THEM."

Perhaps MNJonnie should work on his/her reading comprehension skills.

The outbound only comment was in refernce to why Mexican Customs Officials would be stationed in Kansas City, not a characterization of the facility as a whole. In fact, Hammes stated this in the article.

The article clearly states:

Hammes explained that with American consumption of goods from the Far East increasing, U.S. coastal ports are at capacity. "The Lazaro Cardenas port is providing an alternative way to get products to North America," she said. "These PRODUCTS WILL COME TO Kansas City by way of rail"

You may have a lawsuit against your former teachers MNJonnie.
