Congratulations to the Beavers. You deserve it, we choked.
sad ping!
It was fun seeing players play with heart for a change too.
It was a great series. It's too bad the go-ahead run came in on a throwing error.
sorry, Who's "we?"
North Carolina Tarheels.
thanks. Be glad you're not a Phillies fan.
Roy Williams was at the game, he was mad and he's going to take it out on Billy Donovan (aka Eddie Munster) next year. ;)
Or an Astros fan. Some of the worst fundamentals I have ever seen in the last few games. The series against the White Sox should endure as an embarassment in franchise history for all time. 3 grand slams in 3 games. The worst of them all was yesterday. The Stros blew a 7 run lead in 2 innings, all attributable to 1 player--not Thome, not Konerko, but Iguchi. 1 player, 2 innings, 7 RBI. That the Astros somehow won in extra innings doesn't matter. It was by far the worst game I've seen all year. And I've seen some abysmal performances.
I'm not going to write them out of contention yet (I never will, due to the 2nd half runs the last 2 seasons) but there's no doubt that they are missing something this season.
It was hard to pull against either team. They are both classy programs.
I sure hope North Carolina fans don't lay the blame on the 2nd baseman. The Tar Heels had several chances to score runs in earlier innings, and didn't.
That Tar Heel 2nd baseman played his heart out all year, dared to put himself "in the arena", and should be treated as a hero, along with the rest of his team.
Congratulations to Oregon State for coming from a game down to take it all.
I agree. My heart goes out to Bryan Steed, however neither Dan Baird nor the UNC fans deserved that.
If my team loses to better program, I am going to be upset, but hey that's life. I just hate losing after not giving 100%.
I felt so bad for that kid.....but, it isn't his fault that Oregon had a man in scoring position.
It was fun watching the games.....because I didn't have a favorite to cheer for, I cheered for them all! lol
Well, think of it this way. They made it to the finals, and I'm sure that there were some lucky breaks along the way, for both Oregon State and North Carolina.
It could have just as easily been Rice vs. Miami in the finals.
It was a great series.
UNC has a young team, and plenty to look forward to next season.
now see, I'm so craven (and desperate) that would have made all the difference in the world to me.
Maybe it should have made a difference, but the fact that they had to go to extra innings shows the leaky bullpen problems that will continue to plague the team. They may have won this time, but in the victory was revealed the instrument of their ultimate destruction (unless some major improvement somehow happens very soon).
I'm just glad Miami didn't win.
That's what they said about Florida after last years season. They ended up going 10-20 in the SEC and didn't even make the conference tournament.
He didn't get any help from his 1st baseman either. No stretch. Is it true he had only played four games at first?
