Finance ministry & Iraqi Central Bank study a suggestion about lifting off the worth of Iraqi dinar and returning back as the past.

And the suggestion supported by the World Bank. Finance minister Bayan Jabr Zubaidi declared that he suggested on bank governor lifting off three zeros so dinar would be equal to dollar. on the other hand, he declared his support for national peace initiative.

Thought I'd post this to see if any FReepers can help me get to the bottom of this. I own a small amount of dinar, but have been following events in Iraq very closely.

Just saw this posted this morning in a website that picks up articles from Iraq, and the upshot of the article is that there may be a proposal made soon to dramatically increase the value of the dinar against the dollar.

Still a little skeptical, wonder if this could be a plant by dinar sellers (there are tons of them out there) to goose sales a little bit.

Any thoughts?

Have you heard anything new?

I own some Dinars and I'm buying some more. My gut feeling is there will be a move soon, now that our elections are over.

The Iraqi Dinar has appreciated significantly over the past several weeks. Check out the website for the Central Bank or Iraq here.

The move is significant and accelating, supposedly driven by the IMF.

I'm all over this, and have been since the dinar began to appreciate in value since early November, when the exchange rate was 1477 to 1 USD. Now it's at 1325 to 1 and improving daily. The CBI website is a great resource.
