A young man died Wednesday night when shots were fired into a car from another vehicle after the cars turned a south Minneapolis corner, police said. A red Ford Mustang and a suspect vehicle were going east on E. 38th Street and turned south on 22nd Avenue S. about 7 p.m. when shots were fired, Capt. Rich Stanek said. When officers arrived, they found a young man dead in the driver's seat of the Mustang with its engine running.

We, here, in Memphis has Minni beat. Last night we chalked up our 85th murder. All of them needless gang-bangers settling scores while the law abiding citizenry tries to go about its business. By month's end, we may be in the 90's. I can't wait to get out of this cesspool.
We get ours from Chicago, Gary, St. Louis, E. St. Louis and Los Angeles.

A theory that's been making the rounds is that some of them are Katrina evacuees. The reasoning is that since we started putting them up, there has been an unusual upswing in the insanity. Living it every day and seeing what's happening, it's hard to refute that theory.
We've had this problem since before Katrina, but, you may be on to something.
It's getting worse.
I guess we need to call up the NG, ala Ray and NOLA.
Just to post an update. Today we racked up #86. Just heard that on our local news. And get this, #86 took place three blocks away from a police precinct. It will be in the 90's by the end of June.
