INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - NASCAR could be getting a makeover next season.

With Juan Pablo Montoya, a Colombian, bringing an international flavour to American stock car racing, the circuit is now apparently considering another major move - bringing America's top female driver, Danica Patrick, to the series.

"Maybe now she'll win an actual race, instead of just being eye candy?"

I bet Jeff Gordon will be jealous!

It's all about marketing. She will generate media coverage for NASCAR - used to be a driver had to win to get attention.

Well, I am disgusted with NASCAR. They took away N. Wilkesboro, The Rock. Messing with Darlington. Went to this playoff. Personally, I don't watch it anymore.

"kinda like anna kournikova in tennis"

No.
Kournikova was more interested in showing her butt than in training or playing serious tennis.
Danica Patrick is a serious, hard working driver.

First Danica, then
Michelle Wie, to pave the way
for . . . Carson Kressley!

If you can build a Nascar approved Nextel Cup car and qualify it, welcome aboard.

Maybe she will give Michael Waltrip some company at the back of the pack.

You must not have seen her race at Indy. She is more likely to be up front with Tony Steward, Jimmie Johnson and the other good drivers. She is not timid behind the wheel.

Ah, the irony of your post followed immediately by those shots of her being serious.

Hey, I am as susceptible to eye candy as the next guy.
But yeah, you have a point there.
I am properly ashamed of myself.

Well, many of us think the France boy is screwing up NASCAR. I don't watch anymore either.

Danica Patrick would give new meaning to the "bump" maneuver!

"As they come out of turn 4, Junior is closing hard on Patrick's rear end!"

No argument there. last night on Inside Nextel Cup they were asking Mikey about his next driver, Brian Vickers threw out her name, and Mikey just smiled. Who knows?
