There you have it. A female teacher draws some jail time for sex with students but one guy told me today he figures she'll be out in six months. Probation tacked on, sex offender registration etc. I think a lot of people thought she deserved more punishment for this.

She definitely deserves more, that sentence, just as all the others given teachers who explore their sexuality with innocents, is a travesty.

And THAT is why it keeps happening. Over and Over again. Until the courts are forced, via mandatory sentencing laws, to throw the book at them, regardless of the the sex of the teacher or the student!

After sentencing, McGowan said he was "disappointed but not surprised." He said that a victim's father wrote in his victim's impact statement that a male teacher would go to jail if he had sex with female students and he wanted the judge to send a consistent message.

Some fathers don't like to see their sons accomplish more than they did. Methinks that is the case here.
