I’m sure that some people think this is great. Personally, I can’t stand to hear children (and an 11 year old is a child) change the tempo and tune of a piece of music. They need to learn to sing it as written first.
Then, when (or if) they want to become a rock star when they are 20 they can change the tune, emphasis, and tempo. We shouldn’t encourage our children to bastardize music. (My particular bugaboo is what singers do to the Star Spangled Banner.)
But, thanks for pinging me anyway. You just struck one of my petpeeves.
