I was going to say something about him not getting a break, then I realized the bad pun.

Well at least now he can use all the "pain killers" he wants.
To: mainepatsfan
Well, at least it's a fairly meaningless injury--it won't affect his athletic abilities, and it's not as if he was giving 100% in the CFL anyway.
What really bothers me is how Sportscenter teased the story; "if you're Nick Saban, you're kicking yourself!" Uh, why?

True. It's not like he tore his ACL.

I never watch Sportscenter anymore. It's annoying, cliched, and so in love with Barry "Big Giant Head" Bonds that it's no longer relevant. If I want scores, I can get them on the net without the bad jokes.
As for Ricky, he has a full year to heal his arm. What's the big deal?

I wish I knew. He's a running back... who fractured his left forearm... and he won't be playing in the NFL for another year. I really wish I knew why Nick Saban should be kicking himself. If I were Saban, I'd be throwing a party, celebrating the fact that Ricky's CFL career has come to an end before something that's actually critical to his career--say, something in his legs--got injured.

About a month from now, I can just see the traffic stop in Toronto...
"But Officer, I thought they'd approved the medicinal use of cannabis in Canada."
"That's for cancer, Mr. Williams, not broken bones."

A future Trivia Pursuit question: "Which Canadian Football League team did controversial NFL running back Ricky Williams play for only a short time?"
To: mainepatsfan
As long as it does not impede his ability to hold a joint, his life will be largely unaffected.

That pass that Eric Crouch threw in that games was awesome.

Best sports team logo ever. Sadly no longer in use.

That is good, but the Browns' logo is better.

I never watch Sportscenter anymore.I rarely if ever watch ESPN as a whole anymore, with the notable exception of the World Series of Poker reruns. ESPN's goal of using MTV as a program model (according to an article in Variety Magazine a few years ago) shows what direction they are going, IMO.
