However, as a native of the Deep South, there are running jokes around here about the neighboring counties:

Another Hollywood attempt to paint the south as inbred redneck child rapists. It isn't even an attempt at painting - it's what Hollywood firmly believes that the South and Midwest are: provincial, backward, sinister places populated by violent, narrow-minded religious zealots.
Who (even worse) lack nuance. After all, look at the President they elected. ;)
