NEW YORK - Kate Hudson and Chris Robinson are splitting up after nearly six years of marriage, said her publicist, Brad Cafarelli.

The couple married in 2000. They have a 2-year-old son, Ryder Russell Robinson.

I know this is not important in this day and time, but I always thought that Kate had a great head on her shoulders and am disappointed in this news. Although, I never thought that these two were made for each other they seemed to be doing well. Plus she is pretty hot looking. lol. Two of my favorites have divorced this year Kate and Hillary...dang. Well I am married or I would...oh never mind. My wife just hit me over the head. haha. It is funny that her mother although not married has been with her significant other longer...

Is there any particular reason anyone should care?

I don't like Hudson.

I think her performance is flat and boring in comparison with her mother who was very funny at times.

Her mother is Goldie Hawn.

Her stepfather is Kurt Russell.

Her real father is Dave Hudson of the Hudson Brothers who were somewhat famous in the 70's.

lol. Not really. But with all the serious world stuff going on I thought a little entertainment news might be a little switch. Not for everyone. Have a good one.

I agree with you. If we're always analyzing politics and reading latest threads on the war.....it'll make FR a dull place, for real.

So it's nice to be off the point sometimes.

Not quite. Her father is Bill Hudson. There is no Dave Hudson, at least not in the family.

Brother Mark Hudson, who is an A&R guy for a record label, recently got national exposure for the first time in decades when he was one of the judges on ABC's American Idol knockoff, The One. But The One was canceled after its second week -- its debut was the lowest rated in network TV history. In fact, the title of the show was precient -- the first show got a 1.1 share. That's Olbermann territory.

Only God knows where Brother Brett Hudson is. Well, I could probably Google him and find out, but I don't really give a rip.

I do not believe that any arrangement between an actress and a rock singer can be termed "marriage."

Two women who have aged most gracefully...

Sophia Loren and Goldie Hawn...IMHO.

I don't know anything about Goldie, but aah, Sophia! Note that this is current news!

She was known as "spindleshanks" as a child but filled out pretty well

(From the article) "Even the Archbishop of Genoa once observed that although the Vatican opposed human cloning, "an exception might be made in the case of Sophia Loren".

Photo of Sophia, also current -- last month (at least that's what they say :-) )

Two people whose careers have gone downhill since their debuts.

These Hollywood-Rock Star unions are good for publicity but no one expects them to last.

Reminds me of something I was once told, "No matter how beautiful a woman is, some man, somewhere, has had just about enough of her crap."
