With the possible exception of Kelly Clarkson, and much of her success may be due to production, there never has been anyone who was much of a singer on that show. Good grief, Fantasia Borrino (if that's how you spell it) might be the single most untalented "star" I've seen.
Hicks is good enough, and entertaining enough, and he won. The show isn't about singing, it is all about getting votes.
But, I'll agree that this smacks heavily of jealousy from Timberlake, who has been passed by and is yesterday's news.
Timberlake got his start in a genre that attracts 12 year old girls.
I think Carrie Underwood has got a lot of talent - perhaps more than anyone else so far.
