SNORING is ruining the sex lives of one in four couples, a survey says.
Twenty-five per cent sleep separately to avoid the racket, while half admit it affects their relationship.
Seven in ten men confess to snoring, according to the Great British Snoring Survey.
Four out of ten women admit they have a problem.
Relationship expert Denise Knowles, from Relate, said: People deprived of sleep suffer physically and emotionally.
Sex is the last thing you want when youre shattered.
Marianne Davey of the British Snoring and Sleep Apnoea Association said: Snoring can put a big strain on relationships. We get calls from women who are absolutely in despair.
Snoring can be a sign of ill health, with snorers more likely to have high blood pressure. Sleep apnoea, an extreme form of snoring, is associated with higher heart disease risk.

Loving wives get along a bit better with a good set of ear plugs.

Sleep separately. You'll be rested and can still sneak into each other's beds for a quickie.

Ridiculous. Once a spouse is snoring, the other stuff has already happened if it is going to, that night.
I have used ear plugs, that way neither person is kept awake, either by snoring, or being poked or woken up to roll over. Absolutely no need for separate rooms, that is a bit extreme, and why would anyone want to go that route? Deprive yourself the closeness and sleep in another room? Not this gal. If he snores exceptionally loudly, he is not the least bit offended if I use earplugs, since it allows him to sleep soundly too.
As long as check ups are done and you know your spouse is otherwise healthy, this article is a lot of noise about nothing.

If you're mad about your partner's snoring, just be grateful it ain't farting.
I probably just saved several marriages... :P
To: stainlessbanner
Snoring can kill sex in marriage? I'd say its a distant runner-up to marriage itself. Or to wives turning 40. I have amassed a surprising amount of anecdotal evidence of this, shall we say chronological 'epidemic'?

hahaha Darkwolf!
If he snoring, loudly enough to keep you awake, you are going to hear it in the next room too.!

If it bothers you that much, just wait until she wakes up to have sex. My personal turnoff is when she uses the remote control to change the channels.

yes and the other type hit you. Usually snoring is a sign of a lack of sleep, either caused by hard long days at work and freeping to all hours of the night. It is further compounded by a spouse that hits you for their moment of silence, causing a never sleepless ending cycle. Snoring diminishes pretty much to nothing with longer less interupted sleeping patterns.

Every person who snores should be checked for sleep apnea.
I have snored for over the better part of 30 years, and when I finally got checked for sleep apnea, found that I have it and was encouraged to start using a CPAP machine.
What a difference! I sleep 6 to 7 hours a night and am completely reFReshed when I wake up and generally do not get sleepy during the day like I used to. I am, literally, a new man because I use a CPAP machine and get a good solid night's sleep.
One more point: I have a heart condition which, according to my doctor was a direct result of "living" with untreated snoring and sleep apnea.
Bottom line? If you snore, get tested for sleep apnea. And if you have sleep apnea, get treatment! Sleep apnea, if untreated, can be fatal.

My husband has been tested for everything. He is simply a snorer. I can hear him even with earplugs in and a pillow over my head. Drinking alcohol in the evenings can exacerbate it but I can't get him to stop having his nightcap every night.
On rare occasions, I snore. It always wakes me up immediately. I cannot understand how people can snore and not wake up.

Well, I am sorry to hear that.
There is an operation (something called a "soft pallet," I believe) that may reduce his snoring. Has that possibility been checked out?
Goopd luck! Trying to sleep in the same building as a heavy snorer can be very trying.
