NO agenda here.
I just thought some folks might want to catch the CNBC's "On The Money"
segment on Joel Osteen. I'm afraid it's airing right now...
BUT I think it is replayed later this evening

IMHO, Osteen got a fair interview. I don't watch Osteen, but he didn't
seem to squirm too much about monetary success.

Just my opinion...but his wife just acts too much like a Tammy Fay Bakker
deja vu situation. But maybe I'm being harsh.

Sorry about the short notice of the show, but the show airs again later this evening.

"Mr. Osteen is ready for his close-up!"

I've listened to him a number of times on TV. He's polished and I can see how he can be inspirational to some. It seems more like self help than anything else.

I much prefer my curmudgeonly Catholic priest's sermons, however.

2 sermons and a can of hair spray is all that an evangelist needs.

All form; no substance. Would love to hear him address the sins of abortion and homosexuality. Bet that would empty the auditorium.

LOL. I know many who like the type of stuff Joel serves up, so I won't be too harsh on him. He seems sincere enough. But what is it about the the hair on televangelists? There is some guy on TV (not Joel) that has an awful rug. LOL

I'm afraid you've got a good start on a book titled "Sad Truths".

I'd like to hear his take on what Jesus writes in the sand in John's Gospel, and why.

(I know, off topic, but I wonder.)

That's a good "open-ended" question.
A priest/pastors/preachers response might tell you a lot about them.

I don't know, but everyone that I have ever seen has hair that won't move. I will make an exception for Billy Graham.

Osteen is just a motivation speaker who uses a little religion in his pep talks. Or at least that is what have seen from watching him on T.V.

Sometimes when I'm channel surfing, I'll watch Osteen for awhile. He seems like a nice guy and he has a nice message. Don't think I'll spend money on the guy by buying his books or tapes or anything else.

Yep!
It sounds like she caught a break when she didn't get detained/arrested.
Maybe she got herself a lesson in mercy that day.

It's not just evangelists. Southern people are really into hair and lots of it. Ever watch southern gospel music tapes, especially the Gaither Homecoming series? LOTS of hair there on both the men and the women. It's a southern thing, I think.
