How do you capture a pic from a online video? (vanity)

Can anyone give me advice on how to capture a still from a video and convert it to a jpeg or gif file. Thanks in advance.

You'll need a video capture card. Bacon Man caps video shots all the time - perhaps he can elaborate?

I did it once a long time ago, but have forgotten since. I tried the, "Print Screen and paste to paint," thing, but it doesn't work.

It's a special video card for your computer, so you'll also need a way to hook your computer up to your recording device, or to transfer the video to your computer so you can clip from there.

You need a video capture card. It is usually packaged with video editing software like Ulead or something similar.

It depends on where your video is located (already on a computer or on a video playback device - VCR, camcorder, CD, etc).

I just tried it a couple of weeks ago with a DVD. It SEEMED to work, until I tried to move the pasted image into a corner. The image wouldn't move, but the frame would -all I got was a black screen.

jusr pause the video your watching the press "print screen" then open paint or Photoshop choose file/new then press Crtl+V(Paste) the your whole screen will now in inside the image just crop what you need then save the file... walla. :)

Using Windows Media Player...
go to View/DVD Features/Capture Image
