Guys, though Mozart and Shostakovich are indeed #1 and #2 of waltzes but this waltz is not only the best waltz ever (IMO) but one of the best classical things I ever heard.
Just listen. And enjoy.
If I wasn't stuck with a stupid dialup system I would sure do some downloading.
MUST download even with dialup :)
Good one, thanks.
I'll start it before I hit the sack, but I get knocked off line every time a bird lands on the wires. The phone company has no interest in updating things out here. They just keep wrapping more tape around the wires.
Nice waltz. What's the title and who is the composer?
This waltz is his famous thing. It is a soundtrack for the Soviet melodrama 'Moy laskovyy i nezhnyy zver', 1978 ('My sweet and tender beast'). The waltz has no title but usually known by the name of the movie.
Thanks for the ping!

What do you think about Doga's waltz?
Nice, isn't it?
A girl is walking alone by a lake in a nice park when she sits down on a bench.
She sees her fiance coming to her and runs to greet him and they embrace and rejoice.
But then she awakes to discover it was only a daydream so she continues walking alone.
But then she sees her real fiance and again there is rejoicing, but this time it is for real.
I'd love to hear it but I'm not installing any file-sharing software to do so. Do you have a direct link?
RapidShare doesn't need any software to be installed. Just click FREE button in the right-bottom corner and then wait about 60 sec.
My favorite waltz is the Emperor Waltz by Strauss Jr. There is a theme of great longing to compliment the joyous strains.
I like coming up with storylines for classical works as well.
